Kane is also a researcher at the Education Scorecard, a partnership between Harvard University and Stanford University, which revealed East Hartford’s district has done better than similar districts at combating reading declines among students. The findings come as the district struggles with many of the same issues other similar districts face across the state, including relative lack of funding, and high poverty rates among students.
